History of the New Owners
For those of you interested in learning more about the Guzmans and their family, we’ve included a brief bio for each member of the family below– including our pups, Jak, Rufus, Chloe, and our cat, Gracie.
During the course of homeschooling, Kimberly launched an online business, Meant to Be Collective, with her daughters, then 10 years and 12 years old, selling mugs to customers across the United States. Kimberly cherishes her French Bulldog, Rufus, and grew up riding and caring for horses at home. This allowed her the chance to lead horse rides for elementary kids in Huntington Beach. Currently, Kimberly has Canine Pet Care Provider & Specialist certifications from the IBPSA. She is actively working on becoming a fully Certified Professional Animal Care Provider with the PACCC. Kimberly looks forward to developing a new network of relationships amongst the pet lovers of Coos County as she manages the customer services arm of Riverview Kennel.
In the pulpit, in homes, and throughout the neighborhood, Michael has always impacted the cities and regions he has lived in for the greater good. Managing church budgets and ministry teams as the point leader balances out his people skills with sound business practices. His expertise in inbound marketing and communication has been developed in the marketplace from real-life experience in ministry and in the financial sector. Currently, Michael is certified through the IBPSA in Pet Care Business Basics and will continue to sharpen his skills in marketing content in the IBPSA library of certifications. Michael is delighted to bring his skills in marketing and communication to the service of Riverview Kennel, while also developing the employees of the kennel to their fullest potential.
In her retired life, her love of animals has become king. Her early history of owning horses and rehabilitating injured racehorses with her daughter, Kimberly, provided the family with an animal-centered focus. The small family farm has always been a nostalgic reminder of the good old days. Currently, Susan is certified by the IBPSA as a Certified Feline Care Provider. She desires to become a fully Certified Professional Pet Care Manager with PACCC. Mrs. Ferguson is excited to see her family working in animal care again, bringing her financial experience to Riverview Kennels for its next chapter.
Since retiring in 2015 Gary has been focused on saving local feral cats and caring for sheltered animals which have become his new passions. Currently, Gary has Canine Pet Care Provider and Specialist certifications from IBPSA and a Trap Neuter Return Monitor and Colony Care Certification from the ASPCA. His goal is to continue to become a Certified Professional Animal Care Provider. Gary is grateful for the opportunity to bring his decades of sales and business experience to a family business centered on his passion for animal care.
